Books 2020!!

Hello friends,

In this post, I have listed the books that I have read during the course of this year. As I was at my home for the majority of this year, I was able to spend enough time to read books. Here's the list,

  • Rage of Angels by Sidney Sheldon: This masterfully written story revolves around Jennifer Parker who is the most glamorous and successful lawyer in America and how she becomes a victim of power, love and hate.
  • The Rooster Bar by John Grisham: This book provides a compelling view about student debt and it's dangers. The plot revolves around three law school students Mark, Todd and Zola whose lifestyles are changed due to their unpayable student debt. It also throws light upon racial injustice and educational scams.
  • One Summer by David Baldacci: This light hearted and warm book is about Jack Armstrong and how his life changes after the death of his beloved wife Lizzie. The book reflects how devastated and divided a family can be after the passing of a loved one and the ability of time to mend wounded hearts through love and trust. It also teaches us the importance of family.
  • The Tides of Memory by Tilly Bagshawe: The story is about Alexia De Vere who is an untouchable, wealthy politician occupying one of the highest positions in the UK government and her fall from grace due to the mistakes she committed in the past. The plot is engrossing and suspenseful with a memorable twist at the end which together makes for an engaging read.
  • Paths of Glory by Jeffrey Archer: This is a direct quote from the book itself, "Some people have dreams so outrageous that if they were to achieve them, their place in history would be guaranteed. Paths of Glory is the story of such a man". It is a must read for mountaineering enthusiasts as well as professional mountain climbers according to my opinion. Oh, it is a book whose plot was inspired by a true story!!
  • The Order by Daniel Silva: The plot of this Gabriel Allon starrer book is located in Italy where the legendary spy must now save the Vatican Church from crisis. This book combines action with spirituality to provide a memorable final act.
  • Rogue Lawyer by John Grisham: The quote from the book is, "Sebastian Rudd takes the cases no one else wants: the drug addled punk accused of murdering two little girls; a crime lord on death row; a homeowner who shot at a SWAT team". True to this quote, this book provides an exhilarating journey through the life of lawyer Sebastian Rudd. The book consists of some of the most exciting court room scenes that I have ever read and is complimented by the intense lifestyle of Sebastian Rudd.
  • Heroes by Stephen Fry: The sequel to Mythos, Heroes provides an accurate account of the Greek mythological world through the eyes of some it's most prominent heroes such as Perseus, Heracles and Atalanta to name a few. It is a must read for Greek history lovers.
  • Gray Mountain by John Grisham: The plot of this book revolves around Samantha Kofer who works as an intern for a non-profit organization in Brady, Virginia after being fired from her job as a law firm executive in New York due to recession. For a complete review of this book, please read my previous post titled "The second book!".
  • The Reckoning by John Grisham: This well written book's plot is about the life of Pete Banning and how his mistake tears his family apart. It provides a well researched and documented account of World War II with all it's glory and horrors. For a complete review of this book, please read my previous post titled "Two new books!".
