A mother's day post...

Hello friends,

I would like to start this post with a quote I read from a web magazine,

"When you are looking at your mother, you are looking at the purest love you will ever know".

This quote is applicable to all of us no matter which part of the globe we live in. I would like to take this opportunity to wish a very "Happy Mother's Day!!" to all the mothers across the world whose boundless love, affection & care transcends time & generations.

I would also like to share a personal experience in which my mother's intuition helped me save my career. A couple of years ago, I quit my employment in search of new opportunities where I could expand upon my existing MRI knowledge. After four months of rigorous searching & applying, I realized that I quit too soon as I wasn't able to find a new employment in India as MRI is a niche field and I had only two years of R&D experience. I was frustrated of the rejections I was getting from companies who did not value the skills of a candidate.

As time grew, my frustrations became more visible and this alarmed my mother who finally decided to inquire about my issue. I explained my situation to her and she listened with utmost patience and silence. After, I had finished narrating my problems, she gave me a broad smile. I was perplexed by her reaction and asked her what part of my issue made her smile. With her cherubic smiling face, she explained that she was smiling not due to the problems I am faced with to find a job but how simple the solution was to my problem. She began to explain that I was blinded by frustration which didn't allow me to realize the opportunities which lay beyond my motherland.

When she finished, I felt like a complete idiot who never realized this simple solution all along. I immediately started applying to various countries where MRI engineering was more developed and I got a job offer from Europe within two weeks of applying. To this day, I remember her advice which is to remain patient when faced with adversity and to solve the issue rather than getting frustrated by it.

The above experience is one among many experiences in my life where my mother's patience and prudence proved invaluable.

Please share your experiences where your mother helped provide a solution.

Till next time!!

-Thejas 😉
